International & DACA Students

Many of the programs at UT Southwestern are open to international students, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) students, and other individuals who are not United States citizens or permanent residents. Contact your program to find out about possible scholarship opportunities.

UT Southwestern strongly recommends that any student who is able should file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you’re not sure if you’re eligible to file a FAFSA, please see the information below – and contact us if we can be of assistance.

Please note: UT Southwestern does not recommend filing a FAFSA if you do not meet the citizenship/ permanent resident/ refugee/ asylee/ parolee requirements outlined in the links above.

If you are not eligible to file the FAFSA form, but you are a Texas resident (as defined by Texas state statute), you may be eligible to file the Texas Application for Student Financial Aid (TASFA). Do not file both a FAFSA and a TASFA.
